Common Objectives of the DPS

The common underlying problem faced by all the partners is the lack of common tools and methodology by creating innovative services in order to fight discrimination and exclusion. By comparing our different projects, focused on two different targeted groups (childhood model service and homeless people), we will find out if it is possible to identify a common methodology.

General objective of the Transnational Cooperation Agreement is to find out innovative solutions against discrimination by improving social and care services. By sharing our experience and our various approaches, we will work on the definition of a model of services. We will test our national project in other national contexts to see in which way our own model of service is transferable in other contexts or not.

The different objectives of the DPs can be summary:

  1. To exchange experiences on dealing with people suffering from exclusion/discrimination and to see if the methods and the results by creating innovating models on two different groups can be compared and applied in other countries.
  2. To exchange our experiences in direct work with the target groups and share our background knowledge about them.
  3. To learn about experiences dealing with homeless people in order to find appropriate solutions aiming at (re)integrating homeless people into society.
  4. To have an overlook on the methodology on creating and testing in different contest an innovative model of social care service. The Italian project should help us to think about model of innovative social and care services.
  5. To study new approaches of work with disadvantaged people.
  6. To redefine the welfare policy services for the disadvantaged people are a guarantee of quality of life.
  7. To develop future opportunities for the implementation of sustainable actions by investing in human resources promoting staff mobility and exchange.

Several meeting have been set up to permit better exchanges. At these meeting study visits and working groups have been organized.
Study visits have been planned with specific methodologies for each target. The aim of the visits is to favour learning on the field in order to have some thoughts, exchanges and debates on strategies that are transferable in the different territories.
Working groups worked on two specific themes, which have one common aim (to create new opportunities for disadvantaged people and improve their situation.).

To fulfil with these general goals, the EQUAL partners decided at the launch meeting held in Milan, in September 2005, to organize three main transnational meetings, one in each country. The transnational meetings were therefore the key activities in our project and gathered the activities described in our transnational cooperation agreement.
